Fall Hoops Clinic

“You can belong, before you believe.”

A seven-week, station-based clinic that turns nervous first-timers and eager returners into confident, coachable hoopers — while building character that outlasts the season.

Why this program exists

Most young kids meet basketball in a crowded gym, waiting in line for a turn that never builds real skill. This clinic fixes that with short, station-based sessions where every child has a ball in the first five minutes — and it forms character while it forms hoopers. A fall on-ramp that gets kids ready before the winter season, without competing with it.

How it works

  • Seven Saturday mornings, indoor gym
  • Cubs (Pre-K–K) at 9:00 AM · Lions (1st–2nd) at 10:00 AM
  • Short, station-based sessions — constant touches, no long lines, water every 10–12 minutes
  • Kid-sized rims (8-ft for Cubs, 9-ft for Lions) and a 27.5″ ball
  • Each session peaks with a Skills Showcase

The four-phase skill arc

  1. Foundations — fall in love with it: athletic stance, fingertip dribble, two-hand catch, form shooting up close.
  2. Build — the hardest skills: dribbling on the move, jump stop and pivot, layup footwork, shooting off the catch.
  3. Connect — turn skills into basketball: spacing, finding the open teammate, defensive slides, small-sided 3v3.
  4. Showcase — a Bring-a-Friend open house and a Skills Showcase and Family Day with stations, mini-games, awards, and photos.
